Kristy Todd

Human Resources Manager

Kristy Todd directs all aspects of human resources for full- and part-time employees. She developed multiple training topics, including new employee orientation, supervisory skills, sexual and workplace harassment awareness and disability compliance. She assists department chiefs and supervisors with employee relations and evaluations. Todd secured more than $4,000 in grants to help launch the “Health at the Center” wellness program.

Prior to joining the Convention Center in 2009, Todd worked in human resources for IdleAire and assisted supervisors covering 75 locations in five districts across the country and also served as a recruiter to staff 20-plus sites spanning 34 states and 700-plus positions. Todd also gained experience as a staffing manager for Robert Half International and a national recruiter for J&L Marketing, Inc. Todd managed National Amusements Showcase Cinemas in Louisville, Ky., and earned first place nationwide for a “Cats & Dogs” movie promotion.

Todd served as a “Loaned Executive” for the United Way of Greater Knoxville in 2009, 2010 and 2011. She is a member of the society for Human Resource Management and an ambassador of Knoxville through Visit Knoxville.

Todd earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2000 from East Tennessee State University and obtained her Professional in Human Resources certificate in 2008.

What is your favorite activity to do in Knoxville?

My family and I enjoy exploring all the greenways that Knoxville has to offer.

What is your favorite location in Knoxville?

My family and I enjoy Market Square. We love the lively atmosphere, great pet-friendly outdoor eating venues, and my son loves playing in the fountains.

What do you think sets Knoxville apart as a great city to visit?

Knoxville has all the excitement of a big city, yet the charm of a small Southern town. There is something for everyone in Knoxville.

What is your favorite part about working at the Knoxville Convention Center?

The people.  I enjoy getting to know our employees and being able to serve the community.
